One City government bought a very expensive drum of petroleum-based hydraulic oil before their spill; only they didnt know it. When a line broke and 5 gallons of hydraulic oil sprayed out and landed on the ground, they were on their way to paying a company $7,536 to clean it up (this is exclusive of the city’s OT man hours involved and the bad press for the Cityband Mayor). If my math is correct, the new drum of hydraulic oil cost about $460 and when added to the clean up cost, all in, the City paid $7,996 for 55 gallons of petroleum-based hydraulic oil. $145 per gallon For the drum. If you factor in just the 5 gallons, that works out to $1,705 per gallon.

This link shows the sustainable recycling to re-manufacturing process to take spent antifreeze and, through vacuum distillation, return it to a product that is as good or better than virgin antifreeze. In addition to having access to another sustainable product, the antifreeze is less expensive and is not prone to the wild price fluctuations because the product is not dependent on glycol which is market driven. This antifeeze is a no-brainer, supports reliability goals and is a tech time-saver as it’s pre-mixed, 50/50 and ready to use. No need to spend time measuring and mixing and making sure its distilled water. No more wasted concentrate going into the system because the techs are rushing to get’r done. No more straight concentrate accidentally going into the system to blow rings later and incur downtime when there’s no time. Rice carries four types of antifreeze.
